SSH CLIENT SETUP for Digital Certificate Based Authentication

 Quick Start Client Setup

GSW Mobile Clients GSW Desktop Clients 3rd Party Clients
for Windows Mobile, Pocket PC 2003 and Windows CE 4.2 and later devices    
Configuration of the client software is the same regardless of 'One-to-One' or 'Many-to-One' mapping
  1. Install the client certificate and its associated private key in the 'Personal' certificate store on the device. Install Details.

  2. Configure GSW Mobile Client to use Public (Cert) logon and select a certificate from the 'Personal' store. Configure Details.

  1. Install the client certificate and its associated private key in the 'Personal' certificate store on the client PC.

  2. Configure GSW Desktop Client to use the
    command line argument.
  3. The <certificate> argument should be specified as follows:

    • Use certificate Friendly Name if it exists

    • Otherwise use the Common Name

    Use double quotes if spaces exist in the Friendly or Common Name.

    To find out the names of the certificates in Internet Explorer go to


Verify your client software supports
'x509v3-sign-rsa' and 'x509v3-sign-dss' authentication.
