Remote Control (Monitoring- Viewing Only)

There is no substitute for actually viewing device!

GSW RC MDMS Monitoring gives you the capability to transparently view the desktop on the users device. Monitoring is safe as it is non-intrusive and no accidental keys or mouse input can impact the user.

Each device in a Device Group is listed in a row in the "Available Devices" table. For each device there is a Monitoring (viewing) column and a Shadowing (Remote Control) column.

The icon in the Monitor/Shadowing column indicates if monitoring/shadowing is currently active(enabled). The icon with two people is assigned to shadowing (remote control), since two people have control of the device. The icon with one person is assigned to Monitoring (viewing) since only one person is controlling the device. Color in the icon indicates that the monitoring or shadowing is enabled. Grayed out indicates that the feature is disabled.

An administrator can only monitor one device at a time, so the color will help to quickly recognize which device is being monitored or shadowed.

The icon acts as a toggle. If it is enabled, clicking will disable it. If it is disabled, clicking will enable it. Additionally, enabling Monitoring or Shadowing on one device automatically disables Monitoring or Shadowing of any other device.

ICON MEANING

  • Monitoring Enabled

  • Monitoring Disabled

  • Shadowing Enabled

  • Shadowing Disabled

Another indicator of the state of monitoring or shadowing is text under the Monitoring/Shadowing window.
