Georgia SoftWorks pioneers true client side printing for NT Telnet Servers. Unlimited users can now send output to the most convenient shared printer available without cumbersome restrictions.

April 15, 1998, Dawsonville, Georgia - Georgia SoftWorks announces Georgia SoftWorks Windows NT Telnet Server version 4.10. This is the first Windows NT Telnet sever that offers true client side printing with no client or operating system restrictions imposed on the user.

"Finally ALL users can send output to printers that are convenient to their locations using an NT Telnet Server. Traditionally users were limited in choosing printers that could be used with NT Telnet Servers. With version 4.10 this is no longer the case" said David J. Sexton founder of Georgia SoftWorks. "True client side printing has always been needed for NT Telnet Servers but has not been available due to issues with the global nature of DOS devices and lack of support from Windows NT. We have come up with a solution that allows each user to specify and use their local printer. This is accomplished without cumbersome restrictions and most important without performance degradation.

The Georgia SoftWorks NT Telnet Server allows a virtual printer to be defined at the server and the output is redirected to a shared printer associated with each user.

"This solution allows unlimited users to utilize their client PC's printers when using telnet without interfering with other users," Sexton said. "The freedom and convenience provided with true client side printing is welcomed by telnet users around the world. Especially with no requirements as to a specific telnet client that must be used or the operating system that the client has to reside."
