RELEASE NOTES
Version 6.12 - July 11, 2000

The features introduced in this version further enhance the operation for RF Terminal customers.

Each of the features can be used as a fine tuning mechanism  to provide optimal settings when working with slow links and RF terminals particularly in Standby or Sleep Mode.

New Features:

1.    TCP Receive Windows Size

Provision the TCP receive window size on a per user basis. The TCP Receive Window specifies the number of bytes a sender may transmit without receiving an acknowledgment. Provisioning is accomplished via a the environment variable

    gwtn_tcpwindowsize

    for example

    set gwtn_tcpwindowsize=4380

2. Maximum retransmission Count for TCP session Data
    New Utility: gs_tcp.exe

Provision the maximum retransmission count for TCP session data. This count controls the number of times TCP will retransmit an individual data segment (not connection request segments) before aborting the connection.Note: The system must be rebooted before this feature takes effect.

Defect Resolutions

1. With some terminal emulators a extra character 'w' would be displayed on the screen during initialization. Initialization sequence for vt-100, vt-220, vt-320, vt-420 has been modified to correct.
